Frequently asked questions
How does Rioba work?
Share what is on your heart in the Guidance part of the app, and Rioba responds with Scripture-centered guidance, relevant verses, and an optional prayer. Each response follows the translation, tone, and prayer style you choose in Settings. Daily offers a verse, a short prayer, and a question for reflection each day.
What is included in the free plan?
Free accounts include Daily, up to 3 guidance conversations per day, journaling, up to 10 saved items, Day 1 of every devotional plan, and the Quiet Linen color theme. Journal entries older than 7 days are kept safe, and you can read them again with Premium. The full list is in the app under Settings, then Plan.
What does Premium include?
Premium includes unlimited guidance, your full journal history, every day of every devotional plan, weekly review notes, unlimited saved items, and all color themes. You can start a 7-day free trial in the app, from Settings or from the page that offers Premium.
How do I change my Bible translation?
In the app, open your Profile, tap the settings button, and pick a translation under “Bible translation.” Your choice is used for verses in guidance, Daily, and devotional plans.
Can I adjust the tone and prayers?
Yes. In Settings you can set a guidance tone (gentle, direct, encouraging, or contemplative), choose a prayer style, and choose whether a prayer is included automatically in guidance. Free accounts use the Quiet Linen color theme, and Premium unlocks all color themes.
What are devotional plans?
Multi-day Scripture journeys on topics like anxiety, forgiveness, or grief. Each day includes verses, a reflection, a prayer, and sometimes a practice you can try. Day 1 of every plan is free to read, and Premium unlocks every day. Progress syncs when you are signed in. You can find the plans in Daily or in Settings.
What are weekly review notes?
Premium only. For each week in which you save items, Rioba can prepare a weekly review note with a few questions and a list of what you saved that week. You can edit it as you like. Free users can still browse saved items by week, but cannot open or edit the weekly review.
Where are my journal entries and saved items?
Journal entries live in the Journal section of the app. On the free plan, entries older than 7 days are kept safe and become readable again with Premium. Verses, prayers, and guidance you save appear under Saved, organized by week. When you are signed in, your data syncs to your account.
How do I verify my email?
After registering, we send a verification link to your email. Open the link, then return to the app and tap “I have verified my email.” You can resend the email from the verification screen if you need to, and it is worth checking your spam folder.
How do I cancel Premium?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not inside the app. See Cancelling a subscription below.
Is my information private?
We collect only what we need and never sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Is Rioba a replacement for my church or a counselor?
No. Rioba is a devotional tool. It is not a substitute for pastoral care, professional counseling, or medical and mental-health support. Please lean on your community and qualified professionals when you need them.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app: open Profile, then Settings, then Delete account. This deletes your account and the data synced to it, including your conversations, journal entries, and saved items. It cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: cancel that in your Apple ID subscription settings.
If you cannot use the app, email us at riobabible@gmail.com from the address on your account and ask for your account to be deleted.
Cancelling a subscription
Premium subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not by Rioba, so we cannot cancel them for you. On iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions, choose Rioba, and cancel there. On Android, open Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. You can also open Manage subscription in the app under Settings, then Plan.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless they are cancelled in your device subscription settings.
